Business Objectives

In a competitive banking landscape, efficiency and customer satisfaction are paramount. In a bid to bolster both, the National Bank of Andrews (“Bank of Andrews”) turned to state-of-the-art teller cash recyclers (TCRs) from Sesami.

Integrated at all Bank of Andrews branches, Sesami’s Arca CM50 TCRs became the cornerstone of the bank’s continued commitment to its customers and its competitive position in the banking industry.

The bank’s objectives were several: enhance operational efficiency, reduce transaction times, ensure cash availability, and optimize space utilization in their new branch platforms.

Challenges

In brick-and-mortar branches—where many of Bank of Andrews patrons prefer to do business—seamless customer interactions are a major key to success. Many of those interactions involve cash, which was not only slowing the bank down; it was costing extra money on the back end. As the bank approached Sesami, these challenges and more set the stage for a solution.

  • Prolonged transaction times. “A lot of people visit us during lunch breaks or small windows of time that they have,” explains Hunter Morren, SVP & Information Security Officer at Bank of Andrews. Traditional cash-handling methods led to longer transaction times, which put unnecessary stress on customer visits.
  • Potential errors in transactions and accounting. Older methods of cash counting, validation, and bookkeeping left open the possibility of human error, leading to loss of revenue and potential conflicts with customers.
  • Unnecessary vault trips. With its old cash-handling process, “the motor bank was doing about 5 – 6 vault trips per day,” explains Gabriela Trevino, Head Teller at Bank of Andrews'. Those trips place strain on both employee time and cash availability, leading to slower transactions and longer lines.
  • Limited cash availability. Traditional cash-handling often resulted in Bank of Andrews locations having inadequate cash on hand to ideally complete customer transactions. As a result, customers were often left with unpreferred bills or waiting as cash was replenished.
  • Limited space availability. Larger machines that performed only a single function each took up precious space in smaller Bank of Andrews locations, leading to less available space for customers and employees to comfortably handle transactions.

Solutions

National Bank of Andrews partnered with Sesami to implement our innovate Arca CM50 TCR devices with advanced features and the smallest footprints in the market. The Sesami solution included:

  • Advanced TCR features. Integration of TCRs equipped with cutting-edge technology—including true continuous long-edge feeding, advanced sensors, and intelligent rolled storage modules (RSMs) with 70/30 split drums—for swift cash processing and competitive cost of ownership.
  • Compact designs. TCRs designed to fit seamlessly into new branch platforms, optimizing space utilization without sacrificing functionality.
  • Enhanced cash availability. Automated cash-recycling capabilities ensuring consistent availability and accurate dispensation of funds.
